Bouncely helps tracking bounce emails sent through Amazon SES. We process bounce emails in real-time so you have information to react to email failures.
Before you get started
To get started, you need a couple of things first.
- Create an account on Amazon SES.
- Sign up for a Bouncely account.
- Create and confirm the email you want to track (used with your Amazon SES account).
- Set the return-path of emails sent using Amazon to one of our email addresses.
Email confirmation is needed in order to verify that you really own the email. You can track as many emails as you want and for each one, you must confirm it.
Return-path is a field in the header of your email that specifies the email to which bounce emails should be forwarded to. By setting this emails to be an email from bouncely.com you send us your bounces and we take care of the hard work for you.
After creating a Bouncely account, to start tracking your Amazon SES bounce emails, you have to perform 3 simple steps.
- 1Add the email you want to track
- 2Confirm your email
- 3Verify and set your return path to email@example.com using Amazon SES
The first step in order to send emails with Bouncely is to add the email you use to send emails via Amazon SES. After you logged into your Bouncely account, you can click on "Add Email" option, on the left. Then you just have to insert the email you want to track.
The second step is to show us that you own the email. You should check your email for confirmation instructions.
If you did not receive confirmation instructions you can use the proper link to resend confirmation instructions.
This step will be slightly different, depending on the way you use to send Amazon SES emails. Return-path is a field that goes into the headers of the emails sent. Besides the "to" or "from" fields, you also have to set "return-path" to firstname.lastname@example.org. You also have to send a verification e-mail from your Amazon SES account to email@example.com.
